Building Homes and Families: Habitat Speaker PanelPosted on Apr. 24th, 2012 at 8:15 pm

UF Habitat, Scott Winzeler, the Executive Director of Alachua Habitat, and two homeowners from Habitat homes built by UF and Alachua Habitat volunteers like you will be present to discuss their experiences pre-, during, and post-Habitat. This will be a great opportunity to learn what Habitat is all about and the people that this organization helps.

 

Also, there will be pizza!

This Tuesday, 4/10, is the seventh meeting of the semester! All are welcome to attend. Come out to learn about our upcoming builds, socials, and more! The meeting is at 8:20 PM in Rinker 110 on Tuesday, April 10th.

 

Also, we will be holding elections for officer positions!

Habitat affiliates build simple, modestly-sized houses which use fewer raw materials than large houses. Smaller houses are less expensive to build and easier to heat and cool, thus reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emissions into the environment. (Source: Habitat International)
