UF Habitat for Humanity

Information for New Members

UF Habitat is always accepting new members to help us fight poverty in Alachua County. For more information about the club, visit the About Habitat page or read the UF Habitat information sheet

UF Habitat relies on an automated listserve to communicate with our hundreds of members.

  • What is a listserve?
A listserve allows for the mass distribution of e-mail messages to the list subscribers. UF Habitat for Humanity uses the list address H4H-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU.

  • Why should I join the UF Habitat list?
The UF Habitat officers will e-mail reminders and special information regarding meetings, construction builds, and special events to the list subscribers. Our list is closely moderated, meaning that you'll only receive important and pertinent Habitat information. Subscribing to the list is a great way to stay in touch with the latest club events. And most important of all, you can unsubscribe at any time, so you'll never receive an unwanted e-mail through the list.

  • How do I subscribe to the list?
Although the Habitat list address is H4H-L@LISTS.UFL.EDU, all commands regarding this list should be sent to LISTSERV@LISTS.UFL.EDU. To subscribe to the list, send an e-mail to LISTSERV@LISTS.UFL.EDU with no subject and "SUBSCRIBE H4H-L" in the message body, with no quotes, as in this typical subscription e-mail. Click the link in the confirmation e-mail you receive to complete the subscription process.

  • How do I unsubscribe from the list?
To unsubscribe, simply send a "SIGNOFF H4H-L" command to LISTSERV@LISTS.UFL.EDU as in this typical unsubscription e-mail. If you have multiple e-mail addresses, be sure you send all your commands from the same address so the list server recognizes you.
