Four Pillars

Building

UF Habitat provides volunteers for Alachua Habitat for Humanity builds every Saturday. Projects include new home construction, rehabilitation to existing homes, critical home repairs, and Brush with Kindness projects. Check out our “Builds” page to learn more and get involved!

Advocacy

We conduct advocacy events through the year to increase awareness of the substandard housing issue and call people to action in order to initiate change. The largest advocacy event is Act! Speak! Build! Week in April.

Fundraising

UF Habitat hosts numerous events throughout the year, including our annual 5K race, Yankee Candle Fundraiser, Silent Auction, Pura Vida bracelets. Money is used to fund critical home repairs and Brush with Kindness events in Gainesville, as well as provide new books to children moving into Alachua Habitat for Humanity homes. Please check out our “Fundraising” page for more information. Sponsorships are available!

Education

Our primary educational outlet is at our general body meetings, which feature speakers affiliated with and involved in Habitat for Humanity’s mission. We also participate in tabling and flyering throughout campus, as well as host the September 11th Day of Service and Remembrance event at the University of Florida. Additionally, “Habifacts” provide information about Habitat for Humanity and engage our members at General Body meetings.
